The Christmas Season

I look forward to Christmas time all year long. Twinkling lights, rich colors, luxorious food, laughter and arguments, people, mistletoe. And for days, it was all that and more.

But I think my favorite part of the holiday season is the time between Christmas Day and New Years. Today was lovely. There was divine exhaustion, there was excitement, there was reorganization, rearranging, reintegrating, recycling, re-energizing. A sense of anticipation is wrapped loosely around my neck like a lightweight scarf (knitted in popcorn stitch). Hiding around the corner, just out of sight and reach, a new year waits.

It's filled with possibility and change. I like change.
