Mini Road Trip

Down to SLO CA to watch my baby sister graduate college! Oh my!

Hello 5:00am! I haven't seen you in ages. I don't care how you've been, I hope to never see you again unless I've been painting/partying all night long.

Lots of people graduating this year! Too many for one ceremony in fact.

My beautiful family (minus Sean Bear). After the ceremony we went to a small Earth Science department reception where I met Jac's freaking awesome teach and we took lots of pictures.

My beautiful Jessi. She loved her hat (obviously.)

This was so totally magical. We went to this great barn that had been converted into a store/fruit stand/petting zoo! HEAVEN.

Hello Mr. Goat. He was my friend.

Some barn findings that I wish I had bought. I'll have to send Jac back for me. Or go visit again very very very soon.

Jessi and I and honey stick goodness. I love her. And honey sticks. I feel blessed that we got to bond yesterday and learn more about each other. I can see why my sister chose you as her honorary big sister Jessi. You're beautiful.

Then lunch at The Olde Port Inn and back on the road!

Highlights:
... Meeting someone who can teach me how to spin my own yarn.
... Bonding with Jessi.
... Seeing my darling little sister in her element. I hope she goes back to school, she's so good there. I wish that that trait were in me somewhere, but it seems like there was only enough in our family for one child! :)
... Watermelon hats and honey sticks.
... Getting to drive down with Michelle and getting to know her life again. (I wish I had gotten a pic or two of us, but I suppose keeping an eye on the road is more important.)
... Petting goats and sheep and ponies!

Congratulations Jac. You're beautiful.

Glimpses of Today

Hello Campbell! This morning I went for a drive over the hill for no particular reason other than a change of scenery. There was no traffic, Mops was my companion, and I had lots of interesting thoughts about Felton vs Campbell and my own self. I wasn't sure why I decided that this was where I wanted to be this morning...

But don't worry, I found something to do. :) This is my favorite yarn store. I love their selection, I love the owner, I love that it's green, and I love that it's different from my regular life.

On the drive home I took the long way... Hello Felton!

While we're out and about let's go to downtown Felton and stop by the post office to pick up some mailing supplies. I'm participating in three (three!) swaps on ravelry right now and I'm excited to go through my yarn that I've been hoarding for them. Speaking of yarn...

It's alpaca and silk and a beauty of a color. I have the perfect plan for it. But for now, what to do with new yarn expect play with other yarn?

So while I ate white peaches that tasted like sunshine...

And Apple Berry Green smoothies (raspberries, strawberries, apple juice, water, honey, matcha, flax, and greens)...

I played with my yarn!

And Marvin helped with putting together swap packages.

I took a break to putter in my plants and sit in the sun...

And to walk down to the mailbox...

What a lovely suprise! My giveaway prize! The lovely Brene hosted a giveaway a couple of weeks ago, and now I have some beautiful things for my home and soul.

This lovely print says "maybe being brave is no more than staring down the 'less than' feeling and stepping up to the 'i am worthy' feeling." and it gets a treasured place upon my wall of loveliness in the bathroom.

A little relaxation, and then...

Taco salad for dinner with my honey.

My inspiration has been a little bit renewed, and now Sean and I are sharing space on the couch, me with my yarn, he with his book, and Mops between us.

I've been thinking about doing a giveaway to spread the love... But how many people read this blog? If you'd be interested in some knitted goodness, leave a comment so I know someone's out there!

Hope you had a nice and inspiring day as well. :)

Road trippin.

I've been MIA for 9 days?? I haven't done much creative, I've been working a lot (which I suppose is sort of creative in a different way) and this weekend has been fairly busy. Sean and I went on a tiny road trip on Friday, to Woodside via 9 and Skyline, and then home by the coast. We live in such a beautiful place.

The pic above is Sean and the kids exploring at our favorite beach. I love my little family!

Playing with the white balance on my camera...

And lastly, pumpkins! I wish they were mine, but they were at Alice's Restaurant (you know, like the song) lined up on the railing of the patio.

I love autumn.
